A critical way to should shift your company's perspective

    company's perspective
We've all heard the nature vs. nurture debate. Are we victims to our genes or our environment?

In this week's video, Jim Collins, business consultant and author of Good to Great and Built to Last, gives us his take on the matter, with a business twist.

Substitute an individual for a company. Picture two companies, given the same opportunities, the same resources, and potential. One fails, one doesn't. Do we chalk it up to some other factor in their environment? Maybe something in their inception was flawed?

No, Collins argues. Success really boils down to two things: conscious choice and discipline. The companies we see succeed had great leaders making great decisions and following through with tremendous discipline.
